The Diocese of London has been operating cemeteries since our inception, more than 150 years ago.
We have 76 cemeteries, 11 of which are located in Windsor-Essex, London and Sarnia, and are operated directly by the Diocese and 65 of which are operated by our 111 parishes.
Our parish cemeteries are located throughout Southwestern Ontario. We have cemetery offices at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Windsor, St. Peter’s Cemetery in London and Resurrection Cemetery in Sarnia.
We encourage you to preplan your final arrangements and notify your family members so they’re aware of the details. If you are a member of a particular parish, speak to the parish priest about your preferences for the final liturgy.
Put all of this in writing using My Funeral Liturgy and give copies to your family members.
If you are not a member at a parish but would like a service we would be pleased to assist you. Please contact us for a free copy of our Family Fact File to assist you with this process or with any other questions you may have.
St. Peter's Cemetery has a long history dating back to its founding in 1861. It is the only Catholic cemetery in London.
We offer choices including traditional ground burial, mausoleum crypts, cremation gardens and niches. We are certain we can accommodate your families’ needs for today and future generations.

Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery opened in 1879. As Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery was reaching full capacity, the Diocese of London acquired Resurrection Cemetery in 1992 to continue to serve the needs of Catholic families and families of other faiths.
We take pride in our beautifully landscaped and well-maintained cemeteries; both cemeteries offer serene and sacred surroundings which pay tribute to those we have laid to rest and provide a sense of peace to family and friends.

Our ministry of service dates back to 1767, when Assumption Parish was established. Heavenly Rest Family of Catholic Cemeteries comprises eight cemeteries in Windsor-Essex.
Heavenly Rest, our main cemetery, was established in 1929 and has become the preeminent resting place for area Catholics. Situated on 75 acres in the southwest corner of Windsor, it is a sanctuary for peace and prayer, with beautifully landscaped gardens, waterfalls and ponds.
