A grave is an in-ground space for full casket burial and/or cremated remains. Our cemeteries offer a variety of sizes from single graves to family estate lots. The cost of the grave includes the perpetual care and maintenance of the space. Graves are pre-designated as “Flat Marker” or “Upright Monument (headstone)” spaces.
Crypts are an above ground entombment, which are offered at some of our cemeteries. Crypts can be found indoors or outdoors in a mausoleum building or free standing structure. Crypts are adorned in either marble or granite and are available with many personal memorialization options.
A niche is a small above ground compartment where an urn is placed. Our cemeteries offer many choices including indoor and outdoor options.
Our cemeteries offer an extensive selection of traditional granite upright monuments, flat granite, bronze flat markers, ceramic pictures, bronze emblems and lettering.
Cremation is the process by which the body of the deceased is reduced to its basic elements by rising fire and heat. The Catholic Church has permitted cremation since 1964. Once cremation has been chosen the Order of Christian Funerals must still be followed. When a body is cremated, the ashes must be treated with respect and must not be divided, scattered or kept at home. The ashes must be buried or entombed according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Cremation services are offered at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in LaSalle and Resurrection Cemetery in Sarnia.
Cremation urns are permanent containers for a body which has been cremated. The selection of the urn is very important since the urn provides a dignified vessel for the cremated remains.
Here are some urn styles. Please contact your cemetery for more selections.
